Description

This large-scale option is securely strapped to a pallet for safe delivery. While we recommend storing your logs in a well-ventilated log store or garage, this bag offers convenience and efficiency.

To optimise your burning experience, consider adding six boxes of kiln dried kindling and two boxes of 50 Flamers natural firelighters. Alternatively, two boxes of KindleFlamers natural firelighters (50 packs each) can be used without kindling.

Experience our Ready to Burn logs' superior heat output and clean burn.

Our kiln dried logs, dried to below 20% moisture content, provide maximum heat output and a clean burn. Burning kiln dried firewood below 20% moisture content prevents soot or tar buildup in your chimney and means little smoke is produced. This efficiency means you'll need fewer logs compared to seasoned wood, saving you money. Enjoy consistent performance, less smoke and more heat with our kiln dried logs, unlike the inconsistent moisture levels of traditionally seasoned logs. Our kiln dried firewood is sourced from sustainably managed woodlands and, because of the low moisture content, burns hotter and more effectively than seasoned logs.

Storage

The kiln dried logs will still have moisture (albeit a low moisture content), and they can sweat if stored in a humid environment. Because of this, we recommend decanting the logs and storing them somewhere where there is sufficient airflow. Please note that if the bags are stored somewhere dry and with sufficient airflow, the logs should remain in optimal condition and can be stored in the bag.

FAQs

How should I store Kiln Dried Logs to keep them dry?

To keep your Kiln Dried Logs dry, we recommend decanting the logs into a log store as soon as possible, as this provides the best airflow and helps maintain their low moisture content. If you need to leave them in the bulk bag, they'll be perfectly fine for a period, provided the bag is stored undercover, off wet ground, and in a well-ventilated area. Avoid covering the logs with a tarpaulin without allowing airflow, as this can trap condensation and encourage mould. If you don't yet have covered storage, our Log Store is designed to help keep your logs dry and ready to burn throughout the winter.

How are Kiln Dried Logs In Bulk Bags delivered, and how quickly will they arrive?

Kiln Dried Logs in Bulk Bags are delivered on a pallet by our national carrier and qualify for free UK mainland delivery as a bulk order. At checkout, you'll be able to choose your preferred delivery date, with the earliest available dates typically from 3-5 working days after ordering. As it's a palletised delivery, you'll need clear, level access so the driver can safely position the bag, and it's best to be available in case they need guidance on where to leave it. Premium AM/PM timed delivery slots are also available at an additional cost if you require a more specific delivery window. Read more in our delivery guide.

How does buying logs in bulk bags compare with buying a stacked crate?

When comparing bulk bags to stacked crates, the main differences are how the firewood is measured, packaged and stored after delivery. Bulk bags are sold by their loose-filled volume, as the logs are tipped into the bag and naturally contain air gaps. Stacked crates are measured by their stacked volume, because the logs are hand-stacked with minimal gaps, although we also quote the equivalent loose-filled volume to make comparisons easier. The firewood itself also differs: bulk bags contain a mixed hardwood blend, typically including species such as ash and oak, whereas stacked crates allow you to choose a specific species or blend, depending on the product.

Both options contain kiln-dried, Ready to Burn certified logs below 20% moisture and are delivered on a pallet in the same way. After delivery, bulk bag logs are best decanted into a log store or shed to maximise airflow. Stacked crates can either be used as a ready-made log store thanks to their slatted design, or the logs can be transferred into your own storage if preferred. Once empty, the untreated wooden crate can be reused, recycled or broken down and burned as firewood. For more on choosing between formats, see our guide to understanding crates.

Are Kiln Dried Logs In Bulk Bags Ready to Burn certified?

Yes, Kiln Dried Logs in Bulk Bags are Ready to Burn certified, meaning they are independently verified to have a moisture content below 20%, the threshold set by DEFRA for cleanly burning firewood. Wood at this dryness lights more easily, burns hotter, and produces significantly less smoke and creosote than damp logs sold simply as "seasoned" without a moisture guarantee. This matters both for compliance with UK smoke-control area rules and for getting the most heat from every log. Certification is displayed on the product page and backed by our Money Back Guarantee if a bag doesn't meet the stated spec. You can read more about the scheme in our Ready to Burn guide.

What log size do Kiln Dried Logs In Bulk Bags come in, and which stoves do they suit?

Kiln dried logs in bulk bags are supplied as 25cm length logs with a 5-15cm diameter (+/-10% tolerance), the only size this format comes in. Based on stove manufacturer feedback, this fits around 99% of modern UK wood-burning and multi-fuel stoves, so it suits the vast majority of households straight out of the bag. If you need a longer log, 35cm is available in some of our crates; for smaller stoves, see our Dinkies range (max 20cm). Bulk bags come in 1.2m³ or 1.6m³ sizes, giving most households a full season's supply in one delivery rather than several smaller top-up orders.
