Sustainable Poplar Woodland

  • We've been working with farmers and landowners for the last fifteen years and we now grow over 1300 hectares of poplar - about 1.5 million trees.
  • In a typical year we will plant about 100,000 poplar trees. For every tree we cut down, we plant five more, and our kindling wood is made from smaller trees that are felled to make room for the other trees to have more light and grow bigger - part of the natural management of sustainable woodland.
  • Each hectare of poplar will absorb up to 10 tonnes of carbon dioxide every year.
